Welcome to my blog!

Hi! My name is Natasha Williams. I am a professional photographer in the St. George, Southern Utah area. I started taking the majority of my pictures a few years back when my daughter was born and like most moms, I have about a million pictures of my first child! When my twins were born a couple different friends got me interested in taking better pictures of them so I bought my first REAL digital SLR camera! I wish I could have gotten into photography earlier because I missed out on the opportunity to take pictures of newborn twins anytime I wanted, who gets that chance?! Oh, but don't worry, I still have about 2 million pictures of my twins. I thought at the time I wouldn't do more than just take pictures of my own kids, but it just kept growing! I started with just trying to improve my picture skills then I realized how much I loved it and got into it so much that I bought a studio set up with lights and have gathered all sorts of backdrops and props along the way! My hubby would probably say that I have far too many props and photgraphy equipment, but if you ask me, I don't think that could be possible!

My first real photo shoot was for my neighbor who has some of the cutest kids and I knew from then on that I wanted to do more with my "hobby!" I'm now on my second digital SLR camera, a Canon 5D Mark II, and I'm even more obsessed with taking pictures than ever before! How do you know when photography is your obession? I THINK in pictures! Haha! I tried to explain it to my husband one day and he thought I was crazy. I do though, I can be on my way to the grocery store and have to stop because I see something that I want to take a picture of, or find a new location for pictues. I think half the time what I see has frames around it- me thinking of how I would actually take a picture. Yep, I may be a little crazy, but at least I'm always enjoying what I do!

As I learned from another photographer once, learn to become a quitter, and you'll find out what you really want to do in life, if you don't enjoy what you do, just quit! If you're not enjoying it, it's not worth doing! That's why I'm a photographer, because I love it!

Oh, and for those of you who think that your kids are the most impossible kids to photograph, nope, I have you beat! In the picture below, off in the corner is my little girl, Aaralyn, who, for the first 45 mins of this shoot just wanted to pout and be grumpy. (Picture taken by Amy Hummel Photography)

She's now over the grumpy stage and on to the silly, awkward stage, where she either has her hands doing something weird or her mouth open. One day I'll have the perfect photogenic, willing kid... one day... but until then, I'll just enjoy taking pictures of all the cute clients I get!

Elan Magazine!

My other photography business, Photo Love Stories, wedding photography that I do with Amy Hummel, was recently published in Elan Magazine. We got to do this awesome photo shoot with lots of other wedding vendors who all came together to put this shoot together. How fun would an idea like this be for a wedding or even taking a bit of this type of look and making it into a fun family or kid shoot. Anyway, here’s the magazine with some of the pictures we took of the shoot.

There were the few of us at the shoot, Taylor Proctor who did all the setting up, designing and planning of this shoot, she was the mastermind. Then Olga Goddard who did all the flowers and Amy and I who took all the pictures of the shoot.
